CET Air Coil Inductors
CET Technology designs and manufactures air core coil inductors in various form factors and inductance/current ratings.
What are Air Coil Inductors and How are They Used?
Air core inductors consist of a coil of conducting wire around no core. They have a wide range of uses including high-frequency applications such as TV and also radio receivers. Air Core Coil inductors do not use a magnetic core made of permeable material. The term refers to coils wound on plastic, ceramic, or other nonmagnetic forms, as well as those that have only air inside the windings. Air coil inductors are primarily used for filtering applications, but also in antenna applications. The downside of air core coils is that they are much larger for the same inductance rating.

WHAT IS INDUCTANCE and INDUCTORS? “Inductance is the property of an electrical conductor by which a change in current through it induces an electromotive force in both the conductor itself and in any nearby conductors by mutual inductance.” MATHEMATICALLY THIS IS...
Heat Flow and Temperature Difference in an Air Coil Inductor
Predicting the final temperature of a part is not always an easy thing to do. It becomes a complex task for complex parts. We’re going to predict this final temperature for something simple, like air coil inductors. The mathematics found can “loosely” be applied to...
