CET Inductors

An inductor is a passive electronic component which is capable of storing electrical energy in the form of magnetic energy. Basically, it uses a conductor that is wound into a coil, and when electricity flows into the coil from the left to the right, this will generate a magnetic field in the clockwise direction.
The more turns around the core an inductor may have, the greater the inductance that is generated. A higher inductance is also generated by increasing the cross-sectional area of the inductor or by changing the core of the inductor.
The lines of magnetic flux generated “bump” into each other due to the winding configuration and as such they act to slow each other down. The faster they bump into each other the lesser the increase made over the period of the applied voltage. The action of slowing, or choking, the field lines with and against each other in turn slows the rate of change in current through the inductor.
We offer a full line of inductors here at CET in numerous form factors. Everything from low frequency to high frequency, low inductance to high inductance and low current to high current inductors we can do for you!
